Is it safe to use free Wi-Fi at Starbucks or at the Airport?
Simply no. It is so tempting to just hop on what looks like a “free” open wireless connection. Did you know that hackers will setup their own systems as access points for naïve users to connect? Once they get web access – any key strokes you punch is recorded. If you login to your corporate network for email – well, that is now available to the hacker. If you check your investments while waiting – bad news! Do NOT use public Wifi – ever. You should use your own private phone data plan to get you out to the web.
