Is it cheaper to replace an old server while it is still working, or should we wait until it dies and replace it then?

Last Updated: 12 years ago in Servers / Workstations – Return to Knowledgebase

It is a lot cheaper to replace any server while it is still working. If you miss the deadline and you are facing a down server, not only do you have your entire office down, but you end up with a cost of a temporary repair for that server to get all the data and settings, and then you have to pay the full price of a new server as well. Since the work has to be done in a hurry (your network is down), you may end up with many overtime hours, and altogether you are likely to pay a lot more for the process. You can avoid this bad scenario by having us as part of your team. We will advise you when we start seeing errors from the server indicating that a critical error is in the way. We will help you with setting a new server in place before the crash, and migrate the data and programs with little downtime to you. Call us to learn how we can get this done for your office.
