Can my SSD drive fail? Will it last longer than standard spinning platters drive?

Last Updated: 11 years ago in Data Recovery – Return to Knowledgebase

Yes. SSD drives have certain life expectancy, just like standard hard drives. The fact that there are no moving parts in SSD drives doesn’t address new issues such as limited number of read/writes from a cell in the memory chips. We should advise you that the repair cost of SSD drives are very expensive and at times will be triple the cost of standard hard drives. You can avoid this by always having good backup in place, and we can help you with that. If you had lost data on your SSD drive, please contact us for help with the data recovery.
