Responsibilities

The Network Engineer ("NE") is focused on configuring workstations and confirming network connectivity with our clients. The NE is responsible for assisting various clients (companies) with network installations, network support, management and maintenance by configuring servers, routers, firewalls and switches to ensure Internet and inter-office connectivity. Also, perform support administration such as data backups, restores; virus data file updates, as well as troubleshooting configuration problems during daily operations. Excellent customer skills are needed for heavy client interaction in various positions.

Network Engineers are focused on delivering network implementation, support, and excellent customer interaction with our clients. The NE is responsible for installing, configuring and documenting network operating systems on servers, determining client/server applications, configurations, and directing other technical professions. Network Engineers also provide quality service support along with technical assistance in hardware/software/connectivity to external clients. This job requires design, implementation, support, and maintenance at client-sites.

Minimum Requirements: An MCSE (NT4 or preferably 2000), CNE Certification along with 3-5 years industry related field experience. Mostly focused on Microsoft solutions.

- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Provide leadership and technical advice to customers, engineers, and other service employees
- Maintain technical competence by keeping abreast of technology and technological developments, practices and procedures.
- Proficient in installation and administration of Windows NT/2000, MS Exchange, Citrix, Linux
- Working knowledge of major manufactured system designs, along with advanced repair skills for major manufacturer systems. Will be involved in configuring high-end file servers with RAID 5
- Advanced knowledge of network/server operating systems
- Administration of enterprise e-mail application including database maintenance & repair
- Solid understanding of Internet security, Firewalls, IP schematics, Wins/DNS/DHCP
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP. Will be working with various ISPs to install and implement Internet access through DSL and/or leased lines connections
- Candidate will be involved in implementing VPN connections and WAN connectivity.

- Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP troubleshooting and configuration
- Configuration of standard POP3/IMAP4 and SMTP clients including Netscape, Eudora, Outlook Express and Outlook
- Installation, configuration, troubleshooting and customization of MS Office Suite applications per customer's preferences
- Solid understanding of and ability to install, configure and test workstation hardware including video cards, modems, NICs, sound cards, hard drives, tape drives and other devices
- Solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity
- Understanding of what bridges, routers, and switches do and how to use them
